My name is Dave, and I am an old man. Slightly older than dirt and a member of the GREAT generation. Although just barely. I am not politically correct, highly opinionated, Christian, and old enough I really don’t care what people think. As a widower I will probably talk about life as I have adapted to it, and about my recent discovery of GOD.

I am a non-native Texan. I have been living in Texas for over 50 years. I lived in West Texas, South Texas, and currently East Texas. I have retired several times. I retired in 2006 the first time after spending 30 years as a Police Officer. I worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist until my shoulders gave out. I had my own business as a vendor at motorcycle rally’s all over the south I did that for several years but sold out when I was working 6 days a week ten months a year. Finally I spent several years as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, working my way from a local volunteer to being the volunteer partner the Regional Disaster Officer with authority over the entire Texas Gulf Coast. Finally my wife of 58 years became ill and I had to stay with her constantly as she was unable to care for herself. About a year ago my wife passed away. In her last year she did not even know who I was. And now, I have been living alone for over a year. Prior to my wifes passing I was invited to a church by a very close friend, who always has called me her God Father, to the baptism of her son. Since that time I have seldom missed a Sunday, except when my wife’s illness didn’t allow me to leave her. Currently I visit my church at least three days a week to include Sunday services, bible study, and to study Theology in one on one sessions with my pastor.

now you know all there is to know about me. I have friends at my church as I am a pretty friendly accepting person. I know a lot of worthless things about a lot of silly subjects. I have done things I am proud of and a lot of things I am not so proud of and I may or may not talk about a lot of them.
